As we head into the second half of the hockey season, we have 9 out of 20 teams in the top 4. A small part in this success this year is due to our annual events, the one that I want to highlight is Family Fun Day. This year we wanted to focus more on allowing people to interact with hockey and not just watching games. To be able to do this we reached out to the community and they responded, in particular Nota Motors who funded the hire of many of the activities that were available like face painting, giant games and mini golf. Without them, Family Fun Day would of been a lot different, thank you.
Thank you also to all the juniors who came down and participated in our junior showcase games, we have a fantastic junior group who keep wanting to learn and play hockey. They are the future of our club and they keep showing us that the future is looking good. Many of our juniors participated and helped the All Stars win a third game in a row over the club Legends! Will the Legends be able to get back to winning ways or do they need a help from some of the All Stars who are moving into Legend status.
Lastly a big thank you to all our volunteers who helped out during the day and also to all the businesses that helped to contribute either by donating items to our raffles or by providing equipment.
